Foot Health Evaluation
A thorough foot health assessment is essential for addressing and preventing foot conditions. We develop a treatment plan based on your individual needs following the initial assessment. Our chiropody treatments focus on preventing foot complications and supporting limb preservation.
Initial Assessment: A Crucial First Step
All new patients visiting the Port Elgin Foot Clinic for the first time are required to schedule an initial assessment, regardless of the reason. Whether you are seeking nail care alone, orthotics, or any other podiatric service, this appointment is essential to establish a baseline.
What's Included:
- Review of consent, documentation, and medical history
- Comprehensive physical examination
- Footwear evaluation and recommendations
- Prescription of necessary medications
- Determination of the need for orthotic therapy
- Diabetic foot screening
- Tests or referral requests as needed

The assessment helps identify underlying issues and establish a clear, individualized treatment plan with short-, mid-, and long-term goals. Immediate treatment will be provided time-permitting during the appointment, and follow-up care will be determined based on the clinical assessment findings.
